Adding XML file to the system

XML is a universal markup language, which is used for the presentation of data on a website in a structured manner. The proper configuration of an XML file and its implementation with SALESmanago is necessary to use certain features of the system.

It is crucial that you verify the data in the XML file before you send it for verification. After the XML is verified, the SALESmanago IT Department prepares an XML file transform (a special processing of the file that makes it possible to display its data). This means, that each time an XML file changes, a new transform has to be created.

In SALESmanago, every XML file can have only one transform assigned, it is not possible to edit either element. If there is an XML file uploaded to the system together with a transform, then making any changes to them is not possible.

IMPORTANT: When you prepare an XML file, remember to use dots in product prices (both regular and discount prices), e.g. 79.99, 45.99, 100.00. The prices CANNOT contain commas.

To add XML files to the system


[1] Data type –  choose the data type.

[2] URL – add source URL address. Here you can also evaluate URL address using “Validate URL” button.

[3] Name –  enter the name of the data source.

[4] Shop domain – determine the shop domain from which XML files will be used in the transform (e.g. or

[5] Charset – select type of charset. Options to choose from: UTH-8 or Windows 1250 (accurately, as in XML file).

[6] Currency – specify currency format of the data source.

[7] Language – specify the language of the data source.

[8] Choose a transform – choose a transform from the list. Advanced users can paste their own transform in the field that will display after choosing option Other from the list. Under the filed, you can find sed field in which you can modify the bits of the XML file.

[9] Apply

  • to current – choose the option if the structure of one XML file differs from the rest.
  • to all – choose the option, if the structure of all XML files is the same.

[10] Active – to activate the data source, select the option ” this data source is active”.

[11] Update frequency – from the drop-down list choose how often data should be update –  variant: 2 hours is recommended.

Click Save to save data source information.

REMEMBER: you can add more than one XML file to SALESmanago. You can choose, at any time, which data source is active or inactive.
